Dean Cain’s Colorado Ranch Needs a Hero to Come to the Rescue

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s actually a 35-acre riverside estate belonging to actor Dean Cain, and it’s back on the market for $5.4 million.

It’s a considerable markdown from the asking price four years ago when the “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” star put his Basalt, CO, ranch on the market for $9.5 million.

The 4,399-square-foot home features a living room with a towering rock fireplace and wet bar. The house has two kitchens (One for Clark Kent? One for Superman?). Built in 2002, the home has five bedrooms, including his-and-her master bedrooms.

The outdoor spaces might be this property’s secret superpower. The sprawling estate comes with a gated horse pasture, a quarter-mile of river frontage (good for fly-fishing, according to the listing), productive hayfields, and adorable wildlife. It’s the polar opposite of the Fortress of Solitude.

Despite all its amenities, the luxury ranch has bounced on and off the market since 2011. Is it kryptonite to buyers? It doesn’t look like it should be. Perhaps this stunning home will find a hero before 2015 expires.
